Zachery Ty Bryan, known for his role as Brad Taylor on the 1990s hit sitcom Home Improvement, is making headlines again for all the wrong reasons. The actor allegedly assaulted a woman and threatened her life during a disturbing altercation on New Year’s Day in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

According to police reports obtained by TMZ, officers responded to a distress call shortly before 7 PM on January 1.

Upon arrival, they spoke with the alleged victim, who claimed Bryan repeatedly punched her on the left side of her face. She also stated that Bryan put his arm around her neck, cutting off her airflow and leaving her in fear for her life. During the attack, she alleges Bryan threatened her, saying he was going to kill her.

The victim reportedly sustained injuries consistent with her account, and police noted these injuries in their report. Authorities confirmed the woman shares a child with Bryan, though her identity has not been disclosed.

This isn’t Bryan’s first run-in with the law. The former TV star was arrested for second-degree domestic violence following the January 1 incident, but his legal troubles have been mounting. He was also arrested in July 2023 for domestic violence and faced DUI charges in February 2024.

In this latest case, Bryan was taken into custody and held on a $10,000 bond. Online records indicate he was released around 8 PM on Friday, January 5. His mugshot shows visible injuries on the left side of his face, which raises questions about how the altercation unfolded.

Efforts to reach Bryan for comment have been unsuccessful. His silence speaks volumes as the public grows increasingly concerned about the pattern of troubling behavior surrounding the actor.

The downward spiral of this once-popular sitcom star is a grim reminder of how far he has fallen since his days in the spotlight. Bryan’s repeated legal issues paint a picture of a man unable to escape the shadow of his personal demons.

As more details emerge, one thing is clear: Bryan’s actions have left a trail of pain and fear. Accountability, not excuses, is what’s needed here.

Poor kid was not a good actor back when he was on the show. Too many kids go bad as a result of Hollywood. Even the good actors have a rough time, but one like this must have a REALLY hard time!
