Actor Martin Kove, best known for his role as John Kreese in the “Cobra Kai” and “The Karate Kid” franchises, was removed from a Washington State fan convention over the weekend following accusations of assault by co-star Alicia Hannah-Kim, as reported by The New York Post.
According to a police report obtained by People, the incident occurred at the Summer Con event where both actors were participating in a cast meet-and-greet.
Hannah-Kim told law enforcement that the 78-year-old actor bit her on the arm after she tapped him on the shoulder to greet him at their shared booth.
“Martin Kove suddenly grabbed her arm and bit her upper arm so hard it nearly drew blood, and she yelled out in pain,” the report states. “Once Martin Kove finished biting her arm, he grabbed her arm again and began kissing it where he had bit her.”

Hannah-Kim, who portrays Kim Da-Eun in Seasons 5 and 6 of the Netflix series, was reportedly accompanied by her husband, actor Sebastian Roché, who witnessed the incident.

When the couple confronted Kove, he allegedly “exploded on them,” asserting that he “did not do anything wrong.”
Hannah-Kim then approached a law enforcement officer on site, who documented that she had “a very noticeable bite mark on her arm that was already turning blue and bruising.”
When the officer questioned Kove about the incident, the actor acknowledged biting Hannah-Kim but claimed it was meant in jest.
“He thought he was being funny, and they play fight all the time on the set of Cobra Kai, and he did not think it was a big deal,” the officer noted in the report.

The officer reportedly informed Kove that such behavior could be considered assault and would not be tolerated going forward. Kove responded that he “was just messing around” and “did not mean for it to be perceived as illegal.”

Although Hannah-Kim declined to press charges, she requested that a police report be filed “in case this continues.” Following the incident, Kove was escorted out of the convention.
Representatives for Kove have not responded to requests for comment.
Kove first gained recognition for playing John Kreese in the 1984 film The Karate Kid, a role he reprised in its sequels and in Cobra Kai starting in 2018. Netflix announced that the series would conclude after its sixth season.
