Country music star Morgan Wallen is once again making headlines — this time, not just for controversy, but for capitalizing on it.
Following his abrupt and much-discussed exit from Saturday Night Live on March 29, the 31-year-old artist has turned a viral moment into a marketing win, launching a line of merchandise emblazoned with the phrase “Get Me to God’s Country.”
The quote, which Wallen posted on Instagram alongside a photo of an airplane on the runway, quickly gained traction online and now appears on a $45 T-shirt and baseball cap, available in two color options.

Wallen’s official fan club unveiled the collection on Instagram, writing, “Get me to God’s country ✈️ shop.morganwallen.com.”
The country crooner himself reshared the post on his Instagram Stories — the first public acknowledgment of the incident that had fans and media buzzing all weekend.
The commotion began during the live broadcast of SNL in New York City’s famed Studio 8H. Wallen, who was the musical guest on the March 29 episode, stunned audiences when he walked offstage before the final credits.
Just before his unexpected departure, he was seen hugging host Mikey Madison. A professional lip reader later claimed Wallen said, “Thank you all so much. I had a wonderful time,” to which Madison allegedly replied, “Chatting to you was really good.”
The cryptic moment sparked widespread speculation, confusion, and of course, internet memes.
SNL cast member Kenan Thompson didn’t hold back his reaction when asked about Wallen’s sudden exit.
“I don’t know what goes through people’s minds when they decide to do stuff like that,” Thompson, 46, told Entertainment Weekly.
“I don’t know if he understood the assignment or not, or if he was really feeling a certain kind of way.”
Thompson continued, “You see somebody before you get a chance to say hi or say good job or anything like that, they just dipping. I thought maybe he had to go to the potty or something… Seems like a complicated individual, I guess.”
Despite the awkward nature of Wallen’s departure, sources close to NBC downplayed the incident.

According to TMZ, network insiders said there’s “no bad blood” between Wallen and the show, and that the moment was “just an awkward moment.”
In fact, the insider added that NBC would be open to having Wallen back in the future.
This isn’t Wallen’s first brush with SNL controversy.
In October 2020, his scheduled performance on the show was canceled after video surfaced of him partying maskless in Alabama, in violation of the show’s COVID-19 protocols.
Wallen later apologized, and made his SNL debut two months later.
Now, with his latest merch drop, Wallen seems to be taking the moment in stride — turning what could have been a PR headache into yet another notch on his belt as one of country music’s most talked-about stars.
