Snoop Dogg ran into an unexpected hiccup while dining in northern Italy during his coverage of the upcoming Winter Olympics — but the hip hop icon found a unique way to settle the score, as reported by The New York Post.
The 54-year-old rapper was eating at the gastropub Cronox in Livigno when his credit card was declined, according to Sofia Valmadre, the daughter of the restaurant’s owners.
Snoop is currently in Milan-Cortina working as an NBC correspondent for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games.

Valmadre said the rapper ordered a cheeseburger, chicken wings, chicken nuggets, and french fries during his visit to the family-run eatery, which is known for late-night pizzas and salads popular with tourists.
When it came time to pay, however, his card would not process.
“He sent his staff to take [the card] and pay, but they couldn’t pay. I don’t know why, it wasn’t going,” Valmadre said.
“So my mother told him that it was OK [to take the food] without paying.”
Instead of pressing the issue, the restaurant owners told Snoop not to worry about the bill and allowed him to leave without paying, Valmadre told NBC Los Angeles.
Days later, the rapper made good on the meal in a different way. According to Valmadre, Snoop sent the restaurant five tickets to the men’s snowboard halfpipe final at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
“Grazie, Snoop!” Valmadre said in a video posted on X, thanking the rapper for the gesture.
The tickets are considered highly sought-after for the snowboarding finals at the Milan-Cortina Games. Snoop has not publicly explained why his credit card was declined.

The story quickly gained attention online, with social media users reacting to the moment. NBC News shared video of the incident on X, where fans commented on the rapper’s brief financial snag.
“So @SnoopDogg has real-people problems too. His credit card company must be sweatin’ now!” one fan wrote under NBC News’ X video.
“Good doggy,” another user posted.
Snoop Dogg, known for the lyric that he’s “laid back, with my mind on my money and my money on my mind mind,” has been active throughout Olympic coverage.
He was previously named Team USA’s first-ever honorary coach and has participated in several promotional activities tied to the Games.
During his time in Italy, Snoop also received a snowboarding lesson from Olympic gold medalist Shaun White.
The Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics are scheduled for 2026, with events spread across venues in northern Italy.
Livigno, where Cronox is located, is one of the mountain towns that has drawn Olympic-related tourism and media attention.
While the declined card created a brief awkward moment, the restaurant ultimately received far more than the cost of the meal — and a story that quickly traveled around the world.
