Actor Shia LaBeouf drew attention following an incident in Rome, Italy, where he was reportedly seen moving through a hotel lobby wearing only his underwear while asking bystanders for a match to light a cigarette, as reported by Fox News.
LaBeouf, 39, was captured in video footage obtained by TMZ during the incident. In the clip, the actor is seen shirtless with a cigarette in his mouth as he approaches people inside the hotel.
“Come on bro, gimme a f**king match. You got a match?” LaBeouf asked.

The incident comes after a recent legal matter involving the actor. Last month, a judge ordered LaBeouf to return to drug and alcohol rehabilitation following charges tied to an alleged altercation in New Orleans earlier this year.
Authorities said the incident occurred on Feb. 17 on the 1400 block of Royal Street. According to the New Orleans Police Department, officers responded at approximately 12:45 a.m. after two male victims reported being assaulted.
Police said LaBeouf was “causing a disturbance and becoming increasingly aggressive at a Royal Street business” before the alleged altercation escalated.
When a staff member attempted to remove him from the establishment, LaBeouf allegedly struck the individual multiple times.

According to police statements, LaBeouf used “his closed fists on the victim several times.” The situation continued outside the business in the Faubourg Marigny district, where multiple people reportedly attempted to restrain him.
Authorities said LaBeouf was briefly released in hopes he would leave the area, but he allegedly struck the same victim again, delivering “closed fists to the victim’s upper body.”
Police also said a second person was assaulted when LaBeouf allegedly punched that individual in the nose.
“LaBeouf was again held down until police arrived,” police said. “He was taken to a hospital for treatment of unknown injuries. Upon release, he was arrested and charged with two counts of simple battery.”

Following the arrest, LaBeouf addressed the incident during an interview on “Channel 5 with Andrew Callaghan,” which was shared on YouTube. He acknowledged his actions and said he intended to take responsibility.
“It’s not nice to hurt people – ever, it’s f**king lame. People got hurt, we’ve gotta deal with that. I’m gonna deal with that in full,” LaBeouf said. “I’ll eat it all. It was on me, not on them. It was on me. I f**ked up.”
He also described his condition at the time of the altercation.
“I was drunk, and then I felt infringed upon… like in terms of my proximity. But I wasn’t in my right mind, and so it’s on me,” he said.
LaBeouf added that his behavior included language he regrets.
“I said words that are not OK to say. I don’t want to hurt nobody’s feelings,” he said.
He also suggested that “clout chasing” played a role in the events surrounding the altercation.
The Rome hotel incident and LaBeouf’s prior legal issues have both circulated widely online, drawing attention to the actor’s recent public behavior.
