Joseph Duggar, the former “19 and Counting” star, is facing serious criminal charges after authorities in Florida announced his arrest in connection with allegations involving a minor, as reported by Page Six.

According to authorities, he was charged with lewd and lascivious behavior involving a victim younger than the age of 12 and lewd and lascivious behavior toward a victim aged 18 or older.

The Bay County Sheriff’s Office said investigators were contacted by a detective from the Tontitown Police Department in Arkansas regarding a report of past sexual abuse.

According to the statement, the case centered on allegations tied to a family vacation in Panama City Beach in 2020.

“The 14-year-old victim participated in a forensic interview, where she disclosed several incidents involving Duggar that occurred during a family vacation in Panama City Beach when she was 9-years-old,” the sheriff’s office said in its statement.

Authorities said the allegations involved multiple incidents during that trip.

Specific details about the accusations were included in the investigative findings, but the central claim is that Duggar engaged in illegal sexual conduct involving the minor during the vacation.

The case took another turn on March 17, 2026, when the victim’s father confronted Duggar about the allegations. According to the report cited by Page Six, Duggar confessed during that confrontation.

Following that development, Duggar was arrested.

Page Six reported that he remains behind bars at the Washington County jail in Arkansas and has not yet been officially booked.

Arkansas police told the outlet that Duggar is expected to be extradited to Bay County, where the charges were filed.

The case has drawn attention because of Duggar’s public profile as part of the Duggar family, which rose to fame through the TLC reality show “19 and Counting.”

The family became nationally known through years of reality television exposure, though the Duggar name has also been tied to previous criminal and scandal-related headlines.

A spokesperson for the Duggar family told Page Six that the family does not have a statement at this time.

As of Thursday, no additional public response had been issued by Duggar or his representatives beyond the information contained in the law enforcement statements and media reports.

The charges against Duggar now move the matter into the legal process, with extradition expected to send the case back to Bay County for further proceedings.

Authorities have not announced a court date in Florida, but the arrest marks the latest major legal problem connected to a family once marketed to viewers as wholesome television.

For now, Duggar remains in Arkansas custody while Florida officials prepare to move forward with the case.
