Joseph Duggar was arrested following a recorded phone conversation with the alleged victim’s father, according to details outlined in an affidavit obtained Wednesday, as reported by Page Six.
The March 18 call took place at the direction of Deputy Sheriff Darrell Norris. Authorities arranged the conversation as part of an investigation, with a detective present while the exchange was recorded. Investigators sought to capture statements from Duggar, 31, after he had allegedly made comments to the father in a separate call the previous day.
The investigation followed a forensic interview conducted March 18 with the father’s 14-year-old daughter. After that interview, law enforcement instructed the father to contact Duggar under supervision.
