OnlyFans creators are calling out HBO’s Euphoria for its explicit treatment of Sydney Sweeney’s character Cassie, while fans accuse creator Sam Levinson of degrading her through excessive sex scenes.

The controversy stems from the show’s third and likely final season, which presents Cassie as an OnlyFans model trying to cover $50,000 in wedding flower costs to marry Nate, played by Jacob Elordi.

The scenes have provoked strong reactions across social media, with many viewers labeling them tasteless.

In the show, Cassie’s new endeavor begins with her posing as a dog, complete with ears, a collar, leash, wrist cuffs, and a tail, while wearing a satin corset from Sweeney’s SYRN lingerie line.

One scene even shows her lapping water from a dish on the floor.

Cassie later dresses as a baby for an OnlyFans shoot, wearing a sheer pink top, pigtails, and holding a rattle.

In the story, the couple’s housekeeper Juana, played by Minerva Garcia, is asked to take the photos, a detail that many fans found uncomfortable and exploitative.

These depictions quickly drew responses from real OnlyFans models, many of whom dismissed them as unrealistic and unfair.

Critics said the show misrepresents their work in ways that make sex workers seem unprincipled and extreme.

OnlyFans creator Sydney Leathers told Variety that the storyline felt “ridiculous and cartoonish,” adding that much of what Cassie does in the series would violate the platform’s own Terms of Service.

She specifically pointed to the “age-play stuff” and dressing the character as a baby, saying, “Credit card processors have very strict rules that you have to abide by, and the rules are getting stricter all the time.”

Official OnlyFans policies forbid illegal activity and certain extreme acts, explicitly banning real or role-played depictions involving minors, bestiality, incest, necrophilia, or assault.

Another OnlyFans creator, Maitland Ward, also condemned the depiction, particularly the baby costume scene.

“In the climate we’re in, that they dressed her up as a baby to make pornographic OnlyFans content was beyond troubling,” Ward told Variety.

She said the portrayal reinforces negative stereotypes suggesting sex workers lack moral boundaries or will do anything for profit.

Ward added that such storylines blur distinctions between consensual online adult content and exploitation, saying, “There’s always this untrue stigma that somehow sex work is synonymous with sex trafficking and abuse. And they just said, let’s make a joke of it. That is so funny. I’m not laughing.”

Fans have also directed their frustration toward Sam Levinson, accusing the show’s creator of centering too much of Euphoria around Sweeney’s sexuality.

Many online described the new season as disturbingly fixated on her.

One viral comment on X read, “This show has literally just turned into all different types of Sydney Sweeney porn.

Just all different types of sexual situations that Sydney Sweeney could possibly be in. It’s fucking gross.”

The backlash has continued to build as debate spreads about whether Euphoria crossed a line between provocative storytelling and exploitation.

Both OnlyFans creators and general viewers appear united in their criticism of how sexual imagery was used in the new season.

With the show’s future uncertain, reactions suggest this season may go down as its most polarizing yet, sparking a broader discussion over how mainstream productions handle depictions of sex work and female characters.
