Sports Illustrated model and actress Brooks Nader said her conservative parents are supportive of her new role in FOX’s upcoming “Baywatch” reboot because the show’s signature red swimsuit follows the family rules she grew up with, as reported by Fox News.
Nader, who plays Selene, a captain of the Zuma Beach Lifeguards, spoke with Fox News Digital while promoting the series at the 2026 FOX Upfront in New York City. The reboot is scheduled to premiere in January 2027.
The model and actress said her family did not allow two-piece bikinis when she was growing up, making the “Baywatch” one-piece swimsuit an unexpected point of approval.

"Well, they're pumped about ‘Baywatch’ because it's a one-piece [swimsuit] — we weren't allowed to wear two-piece bikinis growing up," Nader told Fox News Digital on the red carpet.
"So they're like, ‘You're following the family rules. You're wearing a one-piece [swimsuit]. So, we're all good.’"
Nader appeared at the event in a red minidress with a halter neckline as FOX promoted the modern revival of the long-running beach drama.
The original “Baywatch” aired from 1989 to 1999 and became one of television’s most recognizable shows. The series featured David Hasselhoff, Pamela Anderson, Carmen Electra, Nicole Eggert, and Donna D’Errico.
Nader said wearing the red swimsuit made famous by the franchise still feels hard to believe as she prepares to introduce the show to a new audience.

"I mean, I cry every time I put the red suit on, because I'm like, ‘This is my work uniform! What?’" she said. "And the wildest [reaction]? Maybe my sisters’ raging jealousy when I put it on and rub it in their faces."
Nader also said she understands the attention that comes with joining a franchise closely associated with Anderson, who played C.J. Parker and became one of the most famous faces of the original show.
When asked whether she was stepping into “big shoes,” Nader answered, "I mean absolutely."

"Pamela Anderson was the muse of all muses, and she's been on my vision board forever. So, we're going to pay homage to Pam and all the muses of ‘Baywatch’ to the best of our ability. Big shoes to fill. Huge."
FOX is working to bring “Baywatch” back for a new generation, with Nader among the fresh faces attached to the reboot. Influencers Noah Beck and Livvy Dunne are also involved in the project in different capacities.
Nader said the show has already generated anticipation ahead of its January 2027 premiere.
"It is the most exciting thrill of a lifetime," she said about the project. "I feel like there's so much anticipation and everyone has to wait until January, but I think it's only going to build; the momentum is going to build."

The reboot has drawn online attention as longtime fans wait to see how FOX’s version honors the original while adding new cast members and storylines.
For Nader, the experience centers on joining a television brand that became known worldwide and wearing the same style of red swimsuit that helped define the original series.
