Actress Rosie O'Donnell made bold remarks during an appearance on CNN’s “The Lead,” saying she does not believe President Donald Trump will complete his first term.
Host Jake Tapper asked O'Donnell about her past comments on leaving the United States and whether she might return when “it’s safe for all citizens to have equal rights.”
Tapper framed his question by referencing Trump’s potential departure “presumably in January 2029.”
O'Donnell responded that she did not think Trump would “survive that long,” making it clear she believes his health is declining.
She went on to claim that medical experts could provide “accurate opinions” about what is happening to Trump.
According to O'Donnell, “his demise is visible and apparent to everyone who is not willfully blind.”
She cited moments where Trump appeared to mix up names as signs of mental decline.
O'Donnell said Trump once confused Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

She added that his mistakes are reminiscent of what might be excused at “Thanksgiving dinner,” but that “you would never let grandpa cut the turkey because it might be dangerous.”
Tapper, joining in the exchange, noted another incident, referencing a moment when Trump reportedly referred to the “Islamic Republic of Japan.”
O'Donnell agreed, calling it another example, and said that there are “so many” similar moments.
She said it is “obvious” that Trump's condition involves “dementia and how it’s taking over.”

Throughout the interview, O'Donnell’s tone was direct and highly critical.
She expressed little doubt about her belief that Trump’s public behavior reflects serious cognitive decline.
Tapper did not challenge O'Donnell’s assertions directly, but the exchange showcased the sharp divide between Trump’s defenders and critics when it comes to his health and capacity for office.
O'Donnell’s comments quickly drew attention online, reflecting her long history of outspoken criticism toward Trump.
The conversation on CNN was one more example of her continuing to speak out bluntly about the president’s fitness to serve.
