The country has heard enough lectures about COVID, vaccines, and the decisions people made while experts issued guidance that repeatedly shifted throughout the pandemic.

The message changed from wearing masks to not wearing masks, while the isolation period was cut in half during Omicron.

Americans were also told the virus was on surfaces, that infected people did not spread it, and that vaccinated people could not get infected.

Those claims destroyed the credibility of the experts who delivered them.

Dr. Anthony Fauci even admitted in his diary that vaccinated people can become infected with COVID.

The vaccine was also forced on people in some cases.

Companies fired workers who refused to take the shot, including workers who raised religious objections.

It was a sad and authoritarian period in which civil rights were suppressed for political reasons.

Joe Biden's victory over Trump was described as one of the key initiatives behind that push.

The people enforcing those rules wanted control, but they have since been exposed and are now mocked, denigrated, and ignored.

For a self righteous figure such as Fauci, being ignored may be the harshest outcome of all.

The public does not need these figures, does not want them, and wants accountability for what they did.

Their conduct was apparently driven by money, prizes, and flattering attention from the media.

That frustration explains why Adam Carolla had no patience for former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback and Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw.

Bradshaw criticized Aaron Rodgers over his comments about immunization.

Bradshaw directly accused Rodgers of dishonesty, saying, “Learn not to lie. Because that’s what you did, Aaron. You lied to everyone.”

Carolla rejected that framing and argued that Rodgers was placed in a position where lying became a response to overwhelming social pressure.

In his view, Bradshaw and the rest of society were trying to force Rodgers to put an unwanted substance into his healthy body.

Carolla said, “Aaron Rodgers tried to lie because you and the rest of society were FORCING him to inject a substance into his healthy body that... he knew that he didn’t need to inject it."

He then sharpened his defense of Rodgers with another blunt declaration: "Nobody needed the vaccine less than Aaron Rodgers.”

Carolla's larger complaint was not simply that Bradshaw called Rodgers a liar.

He objected to people creating coercive conditions and then condemning someone for responding dishonestly to those conditions.

“I hate it when people force people into lying and then go, 'You know he lied.'"

That was the heart of Carolla's response. He viewed the criticism from Bradshaw as an attempt to ignore the pressure placed on Rodgers while focusing only on the way Rodgers answered questions about his status.

Carolla then used an extreme historical comparison to drive home his argument about people lying under coercion.

His remarks blamed those applying the pressure rather than the person trying to avoid their demands.

“Yeah, he f**king lied… You know who lied? Every Jéw who told a Nazi he wasn’t a Jéw in 1942... You Nazis forced people to lie.”

Carolla's furious answer left no doubt about where he placed responsibility.

Rather than joining Bradshaw's attack on Rodgers, he turned the accusation around on the people who demanded compliance and then expressed outrage when Rodgers did not respond truthfully.

The exchange captured the continuing anger surrounding vaccine pressure and the conduct of institutions during the pandemic.

For Carolla, Bradshaw's lecture about honesty ignored the coercion that prompted Rodgers to conceal the truth in the first place.
