The lone holdout juror in former Massachusetts nurse Lindsay Clancy’s murder trial is speaking publicly in his own voice after the proceedings ended in a mistrial. Michael Desronvil stood apart from the other 11 jurors by maintaining his belief that Clancy was guilty of murder.

Desronvil, who is said to be staying at an undisclosed location, used a video statement to redirect attention away from himself. The statement was set to air exclusively Monday evening on Fox News’ “Hannity.”

“I know the whole focus has been on me, but we want to reel everything back and put the focus on the three angels,” he said. “The ones that can't speak for themselves, the ones that can't defend themselves, and the ones that can't fight the battles — and those are Cora, Dawson and Callan.”

His message centered on the three Clancy children, who were killed at their Duxbury, Massachusetts, home in January 2023. Desronvil also thanked those who have stood behind him during the uproar following the mistrial.

“I want to thank God for my Catholic faith,” he said, speaking softly. “I want to thank God for blessing me with the ability to love my daughter. And foremost, I would like to thank everyone, every individual, that has supported me throughout this difficult situation.”

The video marked Desronvil’s most direct public remarks since the mistrial was declared earlier this month. Before the statement, he had communicated through attorney Edward Paltzik and in remarks to YouTuber Ray Marcel, who streams under the screen name FugitiveTV.

Those earlier comments largely addressed allegations raised by several other jurors after the trial ended. In interviews after the Sept. 4 mistrial, Desronvil was accused of wanting to find Clancy guilty despite having reasonable doubts about the prosecution’s case.

Desronvil has denied those claims. Paltzik also defended his client during an exclusive sit-down interview with Fox News’ Kayleigh McEnany over the weekend.

“Michael has zero doubt,” Paltzik said.

Paltzik additionally pushed back against a local report concerning prior domestic violence allegations against Desronvil. His denial was sweeping and direct.

“Every single allegation against Michael is false, fabricated, never happened, categorically false,” he said. “It just didn’t happen.”

The dispute has also triggered a heated exchange between Paltzik and Clancy’s defense attorney, Kevin Reddington. Reddington has referred to Desronvil as “the obstructionist juror” and asked the court to investigate allegations that he refused to uphold the law during deliberations.

Paltzik, meanwhile, has continued defending Desronvil against those accusations. The competing accounts have kept attention fixed on the jury room dispute even as Desronvil now asks that the public focus on Cora, Dawson and Callan.

Clancy is scheduled to return to court Tuesday for a status conference. Prosecutors are expected to provide an update on their plans for a new trial following the mistrial.

Clancy’s defense has filed motions seeking dismissal of the charges. Her attorneys have also requested an investigation into the allegations that other jurors made against Desronvil.

The status conference therefore arrives as both sides press forward with sharply different priorities. Prosecutors are expected to address another trial, while the defense is pursuing dismissal and scrutiny of what happened during jury deliberations.

Desronvil’s video does not wade further into every accusation surrounding the mistrial. Instead, his first direct public statement puts the three children at the center and thanks the people who supported him through the contentious aftermath.
