RINO Senator Thom Tillis on Sunday erupted over the Trump Administration’s plans to live stream the December 3rd execution of convicted Fort Hood mass shooter Nidal Malik Hasan.

Tillis argued that the decision was another reason War Secretary Pete Hegseth should leave the cabinet, as reported by The Gateway Pundit.

Hegseth, Tillis declared, “needs to get the hell out of the Department of War.” His criticism came after Hegseth announced last week that Hasan’s execution would be public.

According to the announcement, American soldiers will carry out the firing squad at the same military installation where Hasan murdered 13 people and wounded 32 others in 2009.

Hegseth described Hasan as an Army major who betrayed his country and became a radical Islamist.

“An Army major betrays his country, radical Islamist, kills a bunch of Americans at Fort Hood. Of course, we’re gonna do it at Fort Hood,” Hegseth said.

“We’re gonna do it on a Thursday. We’re gonna do it at 1 o’clock, which is when he did it,” he continued.

Hegseth also explained why the execution would be available for public viewing. “We’ll make sure that people are able to watch it, that it’s public, because people need to understand that there’s serious consequences for these types of things.”

Tillis responded by claiming the public execution could place American lives at risk. He argued that terrorist groups could seize upon the spectacle and use it to attract recruits.

“Terrorist organizations will use this as a recruiting tool. It will radicalize other people,” Tillis said.

“And this is not who we are. Look, the Fort Hood shooter should be put to death, but there is a — there’s a way to deal with this that’s proper, and there’s a way to deal with this that’s more improper than I have ever observed in my life.”

Tillis then turned his fire directly on Hegseth, denouncing what he called the War Secretary’s bravado and leadership. He also claimed the administration needs different leadership to support President Trump.

“This is not who we are, and it’s another example of why Pete Hegseth and all of his bravado needs to get the hell out of the Department of War, because he is a failed leader, and we need strong leadership supporting President Trump right now.”

Earlier in the interview, Tillis also claimed that Trump’s deal with Russia to buy diesel fuel would put American lives at risk. The Gateway Pundit accused Tillis of attacking Trump’s actions while promoting his book.

Asked whether he regretted voting to confirm Hegseth, Tillis again brought up the book and noted his record of “supporting presidents’ cabinet picks dating all the way back to Obama.” He then framed his regret around Trump’s legacy and public safety.

“I probably was a little subtle in my book — I dedicate a whole chapter to my biggest regret, so I think it’s pretty clear that I regret that decision,” Tillis said.

He followed that admission with a direct call for Hegseth to be replaced. “I made a mistake. I’ve admitted that I made a mistake, and now I want to try and put somebody in place that will help the president’s legacy and make Americans safer.”

“And that is not Pete Hegseth,” Tillis added.

Trump recently addressed the plans to live stream the execution and said he was not involved in making the decision. Still, he said he understood why officials wanted Hasan’s punishment to serve as an example.

“They want to do that because they want to set an example. I wasn’t involved in that decision, but I understand the decision,” Trump said.

“He went in and killed 14 people; he badly, badly wounded 22 people — walked into a room, just started firing at everybody, screaming things that he shouldn’t be screaming. I guess they want to have it serve as an example, and I understand that very well,” Trump added.
