**Reunited: A Heartwarming Military Homecoming That Brought Tears of Joy**

Kids need their parents no matter what age they are, but sadly, not every child is able to have them around.

Those who have a parent in the military know what it’s like to be separated from them for a long period of time – and the feeling of just wanting them home. Oftentimes, there are lots of missed birthdays, school events, and simple things like goodnight hugs.

US Army Sergeant First Class Jason Webb knows how hard it is for his daughter to grow up without him. He understands his daughter’s struggles and sacrifices, so he decided to give her a big surprise when he returned home after two years of duty.

The surprise happened at his daughter Haley’s high school, and it’s a moment she will never forget.

Haley Webb was celebrating Veterans Day at school with her classmates and teachers. Since she was performing in the school band, she wanted her father to be there. She even asked him if he could get temporary leave.

The 8th grader would do anything for her father to be there that day.

Jason, however, was quick to make it clear that requesting a temporary permit would not be possible. Although disappointed, Haley completely understood.

The principal knew how much Haley wanted her father to celebrate with them. So when Jason asked if the school could help him surprise his daughter, they quickly agreed.

It turns out that Jason was given the go-ahead even before Haley asked if he could come home to celebrate. He just kept it a secret to surprise his beloved daughter.

A wonderful plan was put into action.

On the day of the celebration, Haley played her instrument as part of the school band. After their performance, she was asked to come on stage and read an introduction for their school’s special guest. Her speech highlighted the special achievements of their guest in the service.

Haley began to suspect that something might be up.

In the middle of her speech, Haley noticed something odd about the story she was reading. Halfway through, she thought it was her father. However, knowing that he was still stationed in Korea, she dismissed the thought.

Something special touched her heart and she could not completely dismiss this idea. There was something about it that made her think endlessly of her father. When Haley looked up from the audience, she saw a very familiar figure. Immediately, she started crying in front of everyone.

Many tears filled the room.

With the rest of the audience, she noticed her father in uniform. When he walked over to her, she cried even more. As if to make up for the lost years, Haley hugged her father so tightly.

“Were you surprised?” US Army Sergeant First Class Jason Webb asked his daughter.

Even when her father injected humor into the situation, Haley couldn’t stop crying.

And you really can’t blame her for her reaction. They had both missed so many opportunities due to Jason’s service. According to the father, he was deployed for most of the first six years of his daughter’s life.
