Chelsea Belle O’Donnell, the 27-year-old daughter of comedian and actress Rosie O’Donnell, has been sentenced to six years of probation following a series of drug-related arrests in 2023.

Appearing in a Wisconsin court on Monday alongside her attorney Brad Hansen, Chelsea pleaded guilty to three felony charges: resisting or obstructing an officer, felony bail jumping, and possession of methamphetamine.

According to People magazine, Chelsea was sentenced to two years of probation for each count, to be served consecutively.

In a structured agreement designed to steer her toward rehabilitation, the court imposed strict terms on her probation. Chelsea is required to maintain absolute sobriety throughout the duration of her sentence.

She is forbidden from possessing alcohol or any controlled substances without a valid prescription, and must avoid any association with drug users or dealers. Additionally, she is barred from owning or possessing firearms.

The conditions also mandate that Chelsea earn a high school diploma or GED and complete a full mental health evaluation. Failure to meet any of these requirements could result in her probation being revoked and a prison sentence imposed.

In a small legal victory, the court dismissed two misdemeanor charges against Chelsea: possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of narcotic drugs.

Chelsea’s sentencing follows a tumultuous year marked by three consecutive arrests, all involving serious drug-related offenses.

Her legal troubles began in September 2023, when police responded to a domestic dispute between Chelsea and her boyfriend, Jacob Nelund. During the investigation, authorities searched the couple’s home and made a disturbing discovery: a meth pipe allegedly within reach of her young son, along with drug paraphernalia, used hypodermic needles, and unsanitary living conditions.

One officer reported finding “a black and silver digital scale, some used gem bags with white residue, and a sharps container that had more used and unused hypodermic needles.”

Another officer noted the child’s room contained “numerous used hypodermic needles,” some filled with blood, along with rotten food, tools, and butane bottles scattered on the floor.

The following month, Chelsea was arrested again during a routine traffic stop. Officers reported she attempted to discard a meth pipe by throwing it out the car window.

That incident led to charges including four felony counts—maintaining a drug trafficking place, child neglect, and possession of methamphetamine and THC.

She also faced two misdemeanors: disorderly conduct/domestic abuse and possession of illegally obtained prescription drugs.

By mid-November, Chelsea was arrested for the third time after being pulled over for a loud exhaust.

According to the police report, the officer noted that Chelsea had “pick marks” on her face, a common sign among methamphetamine users. A subsequent search at the Marinette County Jail uncovered prescription pill bottles containing multiple drugs.

Chelsea, a mother of four, now faces a pivotal crossroads in her life.

With the court offering a chance at rehabilitation instead of incarceration, her compliance with probation terms will determine her path forward.
