Actor and comedian Michael Rapaport took direct aim at Democratic Socialist mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani during a podcast episode on Tuesday, calling the Queens assemblyman “Zohran the Moron” and urging New Yorkers to stand their ground if he wins the election, as reported by the New York Post.
“I’ve heard a lot of people say that if Zohran the Moron wins the election, you’re going to leave New York,” Rapaport said. “New Yorkers, if Zohran the Moron wins the election, don’t go anywhere.”

Rapaport, a lifelong New Yorker and vocal supporter of Israel, has become one of the more prominent entertainment figures to publicly criticize Mamdani following his surprise primary victory over former Governor Andrew Cuomo.

Mamdani’s rise has stirred concern among Jewish residents and business leaders alike due to his rhetoric regarding Israel and his far-left policy proposals.
In a recent interview with NBC’s Kristen Welker, Mamdani refused to denounce the phrase “globalize the intifada,” a slogan used by anti-Israel groups.
While Mamdani later told business leaders he would avoid using the phrase and discourage others from doing so, critics have continued to question his positions.
Rapaport, who is Jewish and became increasingly outspoken after the October 7 Hamas terror attacks in Israel, did not hold back. “Do not let this terrorist supporter, socialist bulls**t artist run you out of your city,” he said during his broadcast. “He’s not even from here.”

Mamdani, who was born in Uganda and later moved to New York, currently serves as a state assemblyman representing Queens.
His mayoral campaign has been marked by a push for socialist policies, including a proposed citywide rent freeze, which has drawn concern from landlords and small business owners.
Despite warning of the impact Mamdani’s proposals could have on the economy, Rapaport vowed to remain in the city regardless of the election outcome.
“I’m never leaving New York for a Three-Card Monty playing bulls**t artist like you, Zohran the Moron,” he said. “If this guy wins, we need to blame ourselves. We need to dust ourselves off and make New York great again.”
In a previous interview with NewsNation, Rapaport said, “We are this close to having a person like that become mayor of what should be considered the greatest city in the world. Whether he wins or loses, it is a slap in the face.”
