Actress Sydney Sweeney may be facing potential legal issues after a recent nighttime stunt at the Hollywood Sign that involved climbing the landmark and hanging bras from its letters, according to video and documents obtained by TMZ.

The incident occurred several days ago on a mountainside overlooking Los Angeles, where Sweeney, accompanied by a production crew, was filmed scaling what appeared to be the “H” of the Hollywood Sign while carrying multiple bras.

The video shows a crew filming as Sweeney climbed in the dark and later strung the bras across the letters using a clothesline. Sweeney appeared pleased as she viewed the display after the items were hung.

Sources told TMZ the stunt was filmed as part of a promotional video for the launch of Sweeney’s new lingerie line. The project is reportedly well funded, with Jeff Bezos identified as an investor.

TMZ also reported that this business relationship led to Sweeney receiving an invitation to the Bezos-Sanchez wedding last summer.

While Sweeney reportedly obtained a permit from FilmLA to conduct filming near the Hollywood Sign, the permit did not authorize climbing or physically touching the landmark.

TMZ reported that the permit included specific restrictions that prohibited direct interaction with the sign itself.

TMZ also obtained an email from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which owns and oversees the Hollywood Sign.

In the email, the Chamber stated that Sweeney’s production company had been notified that filming or using the sign in video footage required prior approval, which had not been granted.

“The Chair of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce tells TMZ, ‘There was no permission granted to do this as is required,’” TMZ reported.

According to the outlet, the actions shown in the video — including climbing the hillside, scaling the sign, and attaching items to it — could expose Sweeney and her team to potential legal consequences, including criminal trespass or vandalism.

When TMZ asked whether the Chamber planned to file a police report related to trespass or vandalism, the organization did not provide a response.

After the filming concluded, the bras were removed from the Hollywood Sign. However, TMZ reported that four or five bras were left behind after the shoot. The outlet did not report whether those items were later recovered or removed by authorities.

The Hollywood Sign is a protected landmark, and access to the structure itself is restricted. Unauthorized climbing or modification of the sign has previously resulted in legal action, fines, or other penalties.

Neither Sweeney nor her representatives have publicly commented on the incident. Law enforcement officials have not announced any charges or investigations related to the stunt as of publication.
