Co-hosts of ABC’s The View criticized Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. during a Thursday segment, raising concerns about his leadership following recent Senate hearings, as reported by Fox News.

The criticism came after Kennedy appeared before both the Senate Finance Committee and the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions earlier in the week. His testimony addressed a range of topics, including federal health policy and the potential role of artificial intelligence in medicine.

During the hearings, Kennedy suggested that advancements in artificial intelligence could significantly change the medical field.

"I was just reading about a dog that had cancer, and his owner used AI to develop a personalized treatment that cured the cancer," Kennedy told lawmakers.

The comments drew reactions from the panel on The View, where co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin questioned the use of such examples in shaping national health policy.

"This is our expert—somebody who does not have a medical degree, who does not have a background in science," Griffin said.

Griffin also referenced reports that the Department of Health and Human Services had moved to cancel $500 million in funding tied to mRNA vaccine research. She said the technology has shown “massive breakthroughs” in treating pancreatic cancer and warned that such decisions could have long-term effects.

The discussion broadened to include concerns about transparency within federal health agencies. Co-host Whoopi Goldberg raised questions about the availability of information related to clinical trials within the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The tone of the segment escalated when co-host Joy Behar made a broader claim about current health policies.

"You know, sometimes I feel like they’re trying to kill us," Behar said.

"You think?" Goldberg responded.

Behar continued with criticism directed at Kennedy’s background.

"Here you’ve got a guy who is in charge of our health, who is a former heroin addict... he swam in sewage! Who does that?" she said. "And [he] snorted cocaine off a toilet seat. This is who is in charge of your health, America. We’re in a lot of trouble."

Goldberg later addressed Kennedy directly during the segment.

"Get out of this job. Dude, you’re not qualified," she said.

The comments from the hosts came amid reports that the White House has sought to exercise more oversight of the Department of Health and Human Services, including advising Kennedy to moderate public messaging related to vaccine policy.

Fox News Digital reported that requests for comment were sent to both the Department of Health and Human Services and the White House but did not receive immediate responses.

The exchange reflects ongoing scrutiny of federal health policy decisions and leadership as lawmakers and media figures continue to debate the direction of national health initiatives.
