Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was rushed to the hospital over the weekend and remains in critical but stable condition, according to his spokesperson.
Ted Goodman, Giuliani’s spokesperson, confirmed the hospitalization on Sunday evening through a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.
“Mayor Rudy Giuliani is currently in the hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition,” Goodman stated. “Mayor Giuliani is a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength, and he’s fighting with that same level of strength as we speak.”
He also encouraged supporters to send their thoughts and prayers, writing, “We do ask that you join us in prayer for America’s Mayor Rudy Giuliani.”
No details have been released about what specifically led to Giuliani’s sudden hospitalization or his current course of treatment.

Just two days before his hospitalization, Giuliani appeared on his nightly online show “America’s Mayor Live.” During the broadcast, he coughed repeatedly and sounded different than usual.
“My voice is a little under the weather. So I won’t be able to speak as loudly as I usually do. But I’ll get closer to the microphone,” he said during the program on Friday night.

After news broke of Giuliani’s condition, former President Donald Trump took to his Truth Social platform to express his support. Trump described Giuliani as “a True Warrior, and the Best Mayor in the History of New York City, BY FAR.”
Trump’s statement continued with a pointed critique of Giuliani’s critics, writing, “What a tragedy that he was treated so badly by the Radical Left Lunatics, Democrats ALL — AND HE WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING! They cheated on the Elections, fabricated hundreds of stories, did anything possible to destroy our Nation, and now, look at Rudy. So sad!”

Our fabulous Rudy Giuliani, a True Warrior, and the Best Mayor in the History of New York City, BY FAR, has been hospitalized, and is in critical condition. What a tragedy that he…
Giuliani, now 81, has faced health challenges before. In August of the previous year, he was injured in a serious car accident in New Hampshire, an incident that his head of security, Michael Ragusa, described on Instagram.
Ragusa explained that Giuliani had stopped to help a woman who was a victim of domestic violence and called 911 for assistance. “He remained on scene until responding officers arrived to ensure her safety,” Ragusa said.
Shortly after leaving the scene, Giuliani’s vehicle “was struck from behind at high speed,” according to Ragusa. He was taken to a trauma center, where doctors diagnosed him with a fractured thoracic vertebrae, multiple lacerations, contusions, and injuries to his arm and leg.
Despite those injuries, Ragusa shared that Giuliani stayed upbeat, calling him “in great spirits” and referring to him as “a beast” who “survived 9/11.” That statement referenced Giuliani’s widely recognized leadership during the September 11 terrorist attacks, when many Americans began referring to him as “America’s Mayor.”
Giuliani served as mayor of New York City from 1994 through 2001 before running for president in 2007. He later worked with the Trump administration during the 2016 presidential campaign and remained one of Trump’s most loyal public defenders.
In a controversial moment last week, comedian Jimmy Kimmel made jokes about Giuliani, including a remark suggesting that he “rose from the grave.” Following the hospitalization announcement, online users discussed Kimmel’s comment, questioning the timing and tone of his humor.

As of now, Giuliani continues to receive medical care, and his team has requested privacy and prayers. Supporters online have referred to him as a living legend and expressed hope for his recovery.
Goodman’s statement emphasized Giuliani’s determination to overcome difficulties. Supporters echoed that sentiment, many saying they believe his willpower remains as strong as ever.
