The White House delivered a scathing response to CBS television producer Chuck Lorre after he attacked President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump during a recent charity event in Los Angeles. Lorre used his moment at the podium to unleash a string of nasty personal remarks.
The creator of “Big Bang Theory” was being honored at the Project Angel Food Angel Awards when he made the comments, according to a Saturday report from Fox News. His speech quickly turned from the charity and its work to his hostility toward the president.
"Big Bang Theory" creator Chuck Lorre used a Hollywood charity gala to unleash a tirade against President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump — calling the president a "Russian asset," joking about him dying of a heart attack, and comparing the first lady to a "coldhearted Yugoslavian escort."
The White House fired back hard. Spokesman Davis Ingle told Fox News Digital that Lorre "should immediately seek psychiatric help to treat his severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome that has completely rotted his peanut-sized brain." Media critic Christian Toto called out the glaring double standard: "If Michelle Obama was the target of such a cruel attack, I think it would get a lot of attention. There might even be a call for him to apologize." — Fox News Flash (@FoxNews_Flash) October 3, 2026
“The burden of my profession demands that I take this opportunity to say a few words about that bloated orange piece of shit in the White House,” Lorre told the crowd. His remark drew cheers from some of those listening.
Lorre appeared pleased with the reception and responded, “Okay, I do have the right audience.” He then continued directing his routine at Trump rather than focusing solely on the organization honoring him.
“I’d love to express my gratitude to all the people who’ve devoted their lives to making Project Angel Food an oasis for those in need. That would be my preference. But because I’m a comedy writer I have no choice but to explain how I wake up every morning, turn on CNN to see if the President of the United States had a heart attack while straining to take a dump,” Lorre said.
The television producer also claimed his profession compelled him to say what followed. His remarks moved from wishing harm on Trump to launching a crude and personal attack against Melania Trump.
“I’d love to encourage you to pull out your wallets and contribute to this amazing organization, but my need to cause laughter forces me to question how a country can embrace a smart, educated, warm, funny First Lady like Michelle Obama then somehow be okay with a surgically enhanced, cold-hearted Yugoslavian escort who clearly hates her husband,” he continued.
At a recent charity event, @CBS's "Sitcom King" @ChuckLorre1 joked about wishing death on @POTUS every morning he wakes up, called @FLOTUS a "Yugoslavian escort" who hates her husband, and proudly mocked @RobertKennedyJr's neurological speech disorder. https://t.co/ck4V6AGTt5

The White House did not let the comments pass unanswered. White House spokesperson Davis Ingle issued a sharp statement to Fox News responding to Lorre’s insults and his conduct at the charity gathering.

“Chuck Lorre should immediately seek psychiatric help to treat his severe case of Trump Derangement Syndrome that has completely rotted his peanut-sized brain,” Ingle said. The statement directly answered the producer’s ugly performance with a blistering diagnosis of its own.
The recent rant was not Lorre’s first public attack involving Trump. In 2019, the television producer claimed Trump might have syphilis or might have suffered brain damage when he was born.
Melania Trump has also faced other attacks and has fought against them. One earlier dispute involved a blogger who called her a “high-end escort” and the British Daily Mail newspaper, which repeated the false account.
“First Lady Melania Trump has won the first round in a $150 million lawsuit she filed against a blogger who called her a ‘high-end escort’ and the British Daily Mail newspaper that repeated the false story,” Breitbart News reported in 2017.
Last year, Melania Trump put former first son Hunter Biden on a $1 billion notice over alleged defamatory statements about her. In April, she also condemned “lies” that connected her to deceased convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Those controversies have not stopped the First Lady from continuing her public work. She has been working on her Fostering the Future initiative while facing the barrage of attacks directed at her.
Melania Trump has also taken the lead in helping with multiple family reunifications involving children displaced by the war between Russia and Ukraine. Meanwhile, Lorre used a charity awards appearance to deliver personal insults against both her and the president.
The White House response left little ambiguity about its view of the CBS producer’s remarks. Lorre’s routine drew cheers from his audience, but it also earned a public rebuke from the administration he targeted.
