When Tim Newton, a photographer in Alaska, heard noises outside his house he never dreamed what was there waiting for him. He was used to going out to take photos of wildlife, but this time, they came to him.

On his doorstep was three or four playful lynx kittens. They were scrambling about on his porch running back and forth and pouncing on each other. He couldn't believe what he was seeing!

He grabbed his camera and started snapping away. The special moment wasn't lost on him. He had seen them before in their natural surroundings, but to have the gift land right on his front deck was remarkable.

It was only a few minutes before the kittens scampered away, and he figured that was the last he would see of them, but to his surprise, a few minutes later, a mother lynx with seven kittens showed up.

"I've never seen so many lynx," said Tim. "To see all these lynx on my deck, I was gobsmacked." Surprisingly, Tim stayed unnoticed as he snapped away on his camera. The family was so busy playing that they never realized he was there.

He says for 40 minutes they played on his deck, chasing each other, rolling, and wrestling. He says watching the mother lynx wrangle her kids was unbelievable.
