There is no love quite as strong as the love a mother has for her child. Now, a new story is going viral that perfectly exemplifies how strong this love can be.
“Can I see my baby?” the ecstatic new mother asked right after giving birth. It was only when she was given the child and moved the cloth that was covering his ears that she made the shocking discovery that he was born without ears.
As the baby grew up, it became clear that his hearing was actually perfect, it was just his appearance that looked different. It was only when he started school that the little boy realized his appearance was unusual. One day, the child came home crying, telling his mother, “A boy, a big boy … called me a freak.”
As the boy grew up, it became clear that he had a gift for music and literature, and he still looked handsome despite his physical deformity. One day, his father went to the family physician to ask if anything could be done to fix his appearance.
"I believe I could graft on a pair of outer ears, if they could be procured,” the doctor said.
For the next two years, the family looked for a person who would make this big a sacrifice for the young man. Finally, his father told him, "You are going to the hospital, Son. Mother and I have found someone who will donate the ears you need. But it’s a secret."
As soon as the procedure was done, the boy flourished like never before! He became class president, and he went on to get married and have a successful career.
"But I must know!” he would tell his father, “Who gave up so much for me? I could never do enough to thank him.”

“I don’t believe you could,” said the father, “but the agreement was that you are not to know … at least not yet.”
Years went by, and sadly, the boy's mother passed away. As they stood over her casket, the boy's father lifted her thick, reddish-brown hair to reveal the secret: His mother had no outer ears.
“Your mother said she was glad that she never let her hair get cut,” he whispered gently, “and nobody ever thought her any less beautiful, did they?”
The mother had made the ultimate sacrifice for her son to have a normal life. How beautiful is that?!
