The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is a monument in Arlington National Cemetery that honors all of the unidentified soldiers that have fallen in war. The people that visit the monument are supposed to arrive full of respect, and some are even there to mourn.

The idea of the monument started during World War I when Reverend David Railton was in France and saw a grave marked with a simple cross that said "An Unknown British Soldier." The reverend suggested that the British create a national symbol to honor such soldiers.

Today, there is a monument in every major country that participated in the war. These tombs are sacred places to honor the unknown men and women who served their countries, but sometimes there is a visitor or group that breaks the respectful code of conduct.

Warning: Account balances and purchasing power no longer tell the same story. Know in 2 minutes if your retirement is working for you.

When this happens, although it isn't often, the disrespectful conduct leads to the guard speaking to the crowd. A recent video shows the moment that one guard chose to break from his march and address the crowd.

You can hear a group of people giggling and talking in the background. Then all of a sudden, the guard stops and announces, "It is requested that everyone maintain an atmosphere of silence and respect at all times."

Not a single sound could be heard after the announcement. Check out the video footage of the moment and share it with your friends to see what they think. I think the men and women the monument is honoring deserve our full respect.
