Comedian and commentator Adam Carolla criticized Hollywood figures for what he described as selective outrage and inconsistency in how they address political and religious issues.

Carolla argued that if entertainment industry figures truly believed President Trump was a tyrannical dictator comparable to historical authoritarian leaders, their response would look very different.

"If they thought Trump was a real dictator and a real tyrannical dictator in Hitlerian or Mussolini ass, they would shut their cowardly f**king mouth immediately."

He said Hollywood personalities frequently criticize Israel and the Catholic Church while remaining silent about Islam.

"They got big problems with Israel. They got big problems with Catholics. They got no problem with Islam."

Carolla then questioned what he sees as contradictions in public advocacy for women’s and gay rights.

"Wait a minute. Hold on. You guys love women and you love freedom and you love rights and you hate oppression, right? But you're gonna storm into Catholic churches and you're gonna talk tons of shit about the Jews and Israel, but you got nothing to say about the group that actually does all the oppressing and subjugates women, and treats women horribly and throws gay Ooh, you love gay rights, right? You love gay rights?"

He continued by describing what he called severe treatment of gay people in certain parts of the world.

"Yeah, these guys throw gay guys off top of buildings in a burlap sack, you have anything to say about them? No, I don't. It's a beautiful, peaceful relationship."

Carolla suggested that fear plays a role in what he views as selective criticism.

"Why? Well, they cut your f**king head off. They go, Charlie Hebdo on you. They f**king walk into your f**king shit, and they start slaughtering people, and you're pussies, and you don't want to deal with that, but you do want to be a hero."

He argued that Hollywood figures target institutions they believe will not retaliate.

"So go to the place where they don't do anything and they don't slaughter you, and then go be a hero. There. Don Lemon go there. Don't go to the mosque and start f**king around. Someone's going to get you with a machete, and you f**king know it, but yet you claim to be a champion of gay rights and women's rights."

Carolla concluded by saying this dynamic reflects what he believes is a broader pattern in the entertainment industry.

"So that's what you're dealing with with Hollywood."
