Actress Gwyneth Paltrow made a notable appearance at the Academy Awards in 2026, walking the red carpet in a striking ivory gown that drew attention for its dramatic design details, as reported by Page Six.
Paltrow, 53, arrived at the ceremony wearing a strapless silk gown from Giorgio Armani Privé. The front of the gown presented a classic Old Hollywood look, but the design revealed unexpected elements when viewed from the side.
The dress featured high cut-out slits running along both sides, exposing sparkly sheer trousers worn underneath.

The look combined a traditional red carpet silhouette with more revealing design features, creating a contrast between the elegant front view and the more daring side profile.
Paltrow accessorized the outfit with jewelry from Tiffany & Co., including a platinum and 18-carat yellow gold necklace. The necklace stood out against the ivory silk gown and added to the high-profile appearance.

Additional jewelry pieces included platinum and diamond rings as well as diamond earrings. The rings featured more than four carats of diamonds, while the earrings contained over eight carats.
While Paltrow was not nominated for an award this year, she attended the ceremony as a presenter during the evening’s broadcast.

The actress currently appears in the film Marty Supreme, which received multiple nominations at the awards ceremony. The film earned a total of nine nominations, including one for best picture.
Paltrow portrays Hollywood starlet Kay Stone in the production, a period drama set in the world of competitive ping-pong. The film’s cast includes Timothée Chalamet, who received a nomination for Best Actor.
Filmmaker Josh Safdie was also nominated in several categories, including directing, writing, and film editing.
During the awards ceremony, Chalamet also appeared in an all-white outfit, mirroring the color palette seen in Paltrow’s red carpet ensemble.
Makeup artist Kyra Panchenko discussed Paltrow’s appearance in the film during an interview with Page Six Style. Panchenko described a scene in which the actress appears after a shower without wearing makeup.
According to Panchenko, the character is shown wearing only products from Paltrow’s lifestyle brand.
The 2026 ceremony marked Paltrow’s first time attending the Oscars in nearly ten years. Her last appearance at the event was in 2015, when she wore a one-shoulder pink gown designed by Ralph & Russo.

That gown has since gained renewed attention after being listed for auction, allowing fans to bid on the dress worn by the actress at that event.
Paltrow has made several public appearances during the 2026 awards season. Earlier in the year, she attended the Screen Actors Guild Awards wearing a plunging sheer lace gown from Givenchy.
At the SAG ceremony, she paired the outfit with turquoise earrings created by Belperron, dating back to the 1930s.

In another recent appearance, Paltrow attended the Santa Barbara International Film Festival wearing a pink two-piece set designed by Prada.
The outfit highlighted her legs and midriff and drew comparisons to one of her most recognized red carpet looks — the bubblegum-pink Ralph Lauren gown she wore to the 1999 Oscars.
That earlier appearance remains one of the actress’s most recognizable moments on the Academy Awards red carpet.
With her return to the ceremony after nearly a decade away, Paltrow’s latest look at the 2026 Oscars added another high-profile appearance to her long history at the event.
