Scott Baio, known for his role as Chachi Arcola on Happy Days and as Charles on Charles in Charge, has recently shared shocking news about his wife of ten years. The couple, who have struggled through several health issues together, have went public with yet another struggle his wife is facing.
Renee, Baio's wife with whom he has a 10-year-old daughter with, has recently been diagnosed with microvascular brain disease, sometimes called microvascular ischemic disease. This devastating illness affects the small blood vessels in the brain and has been linked to chronic illness, diabetes, depression, and increased blood pressure.
In the past, Renee has been an actress and stunt woman who has suffered several injuries during her work. In 1992, she suffered a massive brain injury as a result of a jet ski accident.
Whether that injury played a role in her current condition or not is unknown. Renee has also battled two meningioma brain tumors.
"All we know is she must live as stress-free, depression-free, and anxiety-free of a life as possible and get a good amount of sleep each night," said Baio about his wife's condition. "This new disease can cause strokes and dementia."
Renee took to her Twitter account to announce her new condition as well last October stating that besides having had two meningioma brain tumors, she had just learned that she had microvascular brain disease.

Baio says that Renee is his rock, soul mate, life, and the toughest person he know. Hopefully with enough support and prayers from family, friends, and fans, Renee will make it through this battle as well as she's made it through the other struggles she has faced.
