Getting surrounded by a pack of wolves is anyone's worst nightmare, as it pretty much means certain death.

That's why when the horse in this video ended up being surrounded by wolves, onlookers assumed the worst was about to happen.

However, they had no idea the horse was about to outsmart the wolves in an ingenious way!

It was the dead of winter when this pack of wolves stumbled upon a beautiful horse in Italy thinking they had found their next meal.

The wolves were used to hunting small deer who frantically run away from them, so they were surprised when the large horse stood his ground as the wannabe predators circled him.

The wolves are clearly trying to plan the best way to attack the horse as they circle him, knowing that he could kick them with his hooves at any time should they make the wrong move.

The wolves then make eye contact with the horse, who does something in self defense that nobody was expecting!

Those of us who own dogs will immediately recognize the cheeky maneuver the horse uses on the shocked wolves.

By the end, the horse has won over the wolves as well as people all over the globe, as the video has quickly gone viral!
