Angelina Jolie made a rare statement about her personal life, revealing she has not dated anyone since her split from Brad Pitt nearly ten years ago, as reported by Page Six.

The “Salt” actress opened up about her current outlook on love during an interview with Yahoo Entertainment while promoting her upcoming film, “Couture.”

In the drama, Jolie portrays Maxine Walker, an American filmmaker diagnosed with breast cancer while attending Paris Fashion Week.

Her character develops a romantic connection with a cinematographer named Anton, played by Louis Garrel.

Reflecting on her role, Jolie said that playing Maxine reminded her that it is possible to prioritize both motherhood and one’s own personal needs.

“To be candid, I haven’t dated since I divorced a decade ago,” Jolie shared. “So I kind of get in my head that that aspect of me is not centered in my life if I’m focusing on my children, my family.”

She added that the role inspired her to consider that women can still experience love while remaining deeply dedicated to their families.

“It took me a second to kind of say, well, she can also love her daughter and be dedicated to her daughter and also need this as a woman and receive this as a woman,” Jolie explained.

Jolie, 51, and Pitt, 62, ended their relationship in September 2016 after two years of marriage. Their divorce took eight years to finalize.

The former couple share six children: Maddox, 24; Pax, 22; Zahara, 21; Shiloh, 20; and twins Vivienne and Knox, 17.

Now that her children are growing older, Jolie said her daughters have begun motivating her to focus on herself once again.

“I think in some way they’re bringing me back to my old self,” said Jolie.

“My desire for them to have all of the strength and openness and softness and faith and ferocity is reminding me. I think they kind of want me now to not just be ‘Mom.’”

She admitted she doesn’t dwell on aging but is instead beginning to rediscover a sense of freedom. “I’m thinking I have to live again. Be free again,” she said.

“In a way that maybe life has broken me a little bit.”

Earlier this month, Jolie told Variety that her “fighting spirit” has returned after a period when she felt she had lost it. She credited her children for helping her recover that strength.

“It’s coming back in large part thanks to my children, who are now older, and encouraging it,” she said.

“My kids are almost all 18, so now they want to see me traveling the world,” she shared. “They know me more than anybody, and they still like me, which says a lot.”

While Jolie continues to embrace life alongside her children, the family’s relationship with Pitt remains fractured.

Three of their children—Maddox, Zahara, and Shiloh—have taken legal steps to drop “Pitt” from their last names, and twins Knox and Vivienne, though still under 18, have reportedly distanced themselves symbolically.

However, Pax remains connected to Pitt’s side of the family. A source told Page Six that Pax “still has a relationship with his dad’s side of the family and continues to spend time with them,” noting he recently attended a family gathering.

Another source added that Pax “doesn’t have much of a relationship with Brad.”

Through it all, Jolie appears focused on her children and her own renewal.

As she reintroduces herself to love, creativity, and personal freedom, the actress suggests she is beginning a new chapter—one grounded in the encouragement and support of the family she built.
